Does Granite Stain?

In general, no.  All stone, however, is porous to some extent, but Granite has very little porosity.  Most colors will never show any moisture.  A few colors may show some moisture if exposed for a period of time.  Our granite has a sealer applied at the job site after the granite has been installed to help to protect against staining.

Will my natural stone counter tops look like the sample piece?

Samples are given to represent the colors present in the granite slab.  Keep in mind that natural stone is a product of nature so every piece is unique.  We recommend viewing the slab or slabs that you are using on your project to prevent any problems after fabrication or installation. 

Will counter top seams be noticeable?

Your seams will be noticeable.  With this, we use an epoxy material to color match the stone with the seam so that it blends with the two adjoining counter tops. 

Does Bella Stone Designs offer sinks?

Bella Stone Designs offers a full line of stainless steel sinks and porcelain under mount bowls for vanities.  We also can supply a full line of Blanco sinks.

How do I get an estimate on my kitchen?

Provide us with a drawing or layout of your kitchen counter tops.  Please list all important information such as granite color, edge profile, back splash location and size, sink cut out needed, cook top cut out if needed, if removal of existing tops are needed and cabinet company or contractor that is supervising your project.  Simply fax or email the drawing and a quote will be returned within 24 hours.

How long does it take to schedule a template or measure for my counter tops?

We can in most circumstances have your counter tops templated or measured within 48 hours from when you set up the appointmen

How long does it take to have installation completed from the template date?

Generally the installation is schedule within two weeks of the template date.  For this to occur all information such as cook top model number, actual sink and granite color is need before an installation date will be scheduled.

Can granite cantilever?

You can cantilever granite up to 9 inches without support.

Can I have the left over material from the slabs that were used on my project?

Most of our projects are quoted on a per square foot basis so any remnants from the slabs used for your project are the inventory of Bella Stone Designs.

What are your deposit requirement and terms?

When you accept our quotation a 50% deposit is required to schedule a template or measure.  The remaining 50% payment is required at time of installation.  We accept cash, check or credit card payments.

Do you template with existing counter tops in place?

We will template with your existing counter tops in place.  We do this so not to leave your kitchen in disarray for an extended time.  If you choose we can quote the removal of your existing counter tops and remove them the day of your granite installation.

Does your company install electric or gas appliances or connect plumbing?

We do not install appliance or connect plumbing.  We can provide you with a certified electric or plumbing contractor to take care of those needs.  We attach all under mount sinks to the natural stone, cut out counter tops to prepare for the appliances to be installed and drill all holes for plumbing.

Can I use a polished marble in my kitchen?

We do not recommend using a polished marble in a kitchen application.  Marble is softer than granite and will scratch with daily use.  Any acid based foods or cleaner can also etch the polished surface of the marble.  We recommend a honed finish if marble is used in the kitchen.
